You shall not dowhatis donein the landof Egyptwhereyou lived,norare you to dowhatis donein the landof CanaanwhereI am bringingyou; you shall not walkin their statutes.
and walkedin the customsof the nationswhomthe LORDhad drivenout beforethe sonsof Israel,and [in the customs] of the kingsof Israelwhichthey had introduced.
But they mingledwith the nationsAnd learnedtheir practices,
"You shall not worshiptheir gods,norservethem, nordoaccording to their deeds;but you shall utterlyoverthrowthem and breaktheir [sacred] pillarsin pieces.
"She did not forsakeher harlotriesfrom [the time in] Egypt;for in her youthmen had lainwith her, and they handledher virginbosomand pouredout their luston her.
Moreover, you shall not followthe customsof the nationwhichI will driveout beforeyou, for they didallthesethings,and therefore I have abhorredthem.
And do not be conformedto thisworld,but be transformedby the renewingof your mind,sothat you may provewhatthe willof Godis, that which is goodand acceptableand perfect.
"You shall not actlikethistoward the LORDyour God.
moreover, you have seentheir abominationsand their idols[of] wood,stone,silver,and gold,which[they had] with them);
"Do not sayin your heartwhen the LORDyour Godhas driventhem out beforeyou, 'Because of my righteousnessthe LORDhas broughtme in to possessthisland,'but [it is] because of the wickednessof thesenations[that] the LORDis dispossessingthem beforeyou.
