to makea distinctionbetweenthe uncleanand the clean,and betweenthe ediblecreatureand the creaturewhichis not to be eaten.

But Petersaid,"By no means,Lord,for I have nevereatenanythingunholyand unclean."
So the angelof the LORDsaidto Manoah,"Let the womanpayattentionto allthat I said.
"She should not eatanythingthat comesfrom the vinenordrinkwineor strongdrink,noreatanyuncleanthing;let her observeallthat I commanded."
"But he saidto me, 'Behold,you shall conceiveand givebirthto a son,and nowyou shall not drinkwineor strongdrinknoreatanyuncleanthing,for the boyshall be a Naziriteto Godfrom the wombto the dayof his death.'"
