"I speakthe things whichI have seenwith [My] Father;thereforeyou alsodothe things whichyou heardfrom [your] father."
But when he sawmanyof the Phariseesand Sadduceescomingfor baptism,he saidto them, "You broodof vipers,whowarnedyou to fleefrom the wrathto come?
"Do you not believethat I am in the Father,and the Fatheris in Me? The wordsthat I sayto you I do not speakon My own initiative,but the Fatherabidingin Me doesHis works.
"He who does not loveMe does not keepMy words;and the wordwhichyou hearis not Mine,but the Father'swho sentMe.
for the wordswhichYou gaveMe I have givento them; and they received[them] and trulyunderstoodthat I came forthfrom You, and they believedthat You sentMe.
"WhatHe has seenand heard,of that He testifies;and no onereceivesHis testimony.
ThereforeJesusansweredand was sayingto them, "Truly,truly,I sayto you, the Soncandonothingof Himself,unless[it is] somethingHe seesthe Fatherdoing;for whateverthe Fatherdoes,these thingsthe Sonalsodoesin like manner.
"I candonothingon My own initiative.As I hear,I judge;and My judgmentis just,becauseI do not seekMy ownwill,but the willof Him who sentMe.
"I havemany thingsto speakand to judgeconcerningyou, but He who sentMe is true;and the things whichI heardfrom Him, theseI speakto the world."
"You are doingthe deedsof your father."They saidto Him, "We were not bornof fornication;we haveoneFather:God."
"You are of [your] fatherthe devil,and you wantto dothe desiresof your father.He was a murdererfrom the beginning,and does not standin the truthbecausethere is notruthin him. Wheneverhe speaksa lie,he speaksfrom his own[nature], for he is a liarand the fatherof lies.
