Then the messengerwhowentto summonMicaiahspoketo him saying,"Beholdnow,the wordsof the prophetsare uniformlyfavorableto the king.Pleaselet your wordbe like the wordof oneof them, and speakfavorably."
"But they doalltheir deedsto be noticedby men;for they broadentheir phylacteriesand lengthenthe tassels[of their garments].
and saidto Him, "IfYou are the Sonof God,throwYourselfdown;for it is written,HE WILL COMMANDHIS ANGELSCONCERNINGYOU'; and 'ON [their] HANDSTHEY WILL BEARYOU UP, SOTHAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKEYOUR FOOTAGAINSTA STONE.'"
"Wheneveryou fast,do not puton a gloomy faceas the hypocrites[do], for they neglecttheir appearancesothat they will be noticedby menwhen they are fasting.TrulyI sayto you, they havetheir rewardin full.
"Whenyou pray,you are not to be likethe hypocrites;for they loveto standand prayin the synagoguesand on the streetcornerssothat they may be seenby men.TrulyI sayto you, they havetheir rewardin full.
"The goodmanout of the goodtreasureof his heartbringsforthwhat is good;and the evil[man] out of the evil[treasure] brings forthwhat is evil;for his mouthspeaksfrom that which fillshis heart.
Jesusansweredhim, "I have spokenopenlyto the world;I alwaystaughtin synagoguesand in the temple,whereallthe Jewscome together;and I spokenothingin secret.
ThereforeHis brotherssaidto Him, "Leavehereand gointo Judea,sothat Your disciplesalsomay seeYour workswhichYou are doing.
For not evenHis brotherswere believingin Him.
