Sothey were seekingto seizeHim; and no manlaidhis handon Him, becauseHis hourhad not yetcome.
Thereforethey were seekingagainto seizeHim, and He eludedtheir grasp.
ThesewordsHe spokein the treasury,as He taughtin the temple;and no oneseizedHim, becauseHis hourhad not yetcome.
SoJesussaidto them, "My timeis not yethere,but your timeis alwaysopportune.
The Phariseesheardthe crowdmutteringthese thingsaboutHim, and the chief priestsand the Phariseessentofficersto seizeHim.
Nowthe chief priestsand the Phariseeshad givenordersthat ifanyoneknewwhereHe was, he was to reportit, sothat they might seizeHim.
"We mustworkthe worksof Him who sentMe as longas it is day;nightis comingwhenno onecanwork.
Thereforethey pickedup stonesto throwat Him, but JesushidHimself and wentout of the temple.
"I knowthat you are Abraham'sdescendants;yetyou seekto killMe, becauseMy wordhasnoplacein you.
"Did not Mosesgiveyou the Law,and [yet] noneof you carriesout the Law?Whydo you seekto killMe?"
"Goup to the feastyourselves;I do not goup to thisfeastbecauseMy timehas not yetfully come."
"While I was with you dailyin the temple,you did not layhandson Me; but thishourand the powerof darknessare yours."
The scribesand the chief prieststriedto layhandson Him that veryhour,and they fearedthe people;for they understoodthat He spokethisparableagainstthem.
The chief priestsand the scribesheard[this], and [began] seekinghowto destroyHim; for they were afraidof Him, for the wholecrowdwas astonishedat His teaching.
When they soughtto seizeHim, they fearedthe people,becausethey consideredHim to be a prophet.
Declaringthe endfrom the beginning,And from ancienttimesthings whichhave not been done,Saying,My purposewill be established,And I will accomplishallMy goodpleasure';
For the wrathof manshall praiseYou; With a remnantof wrathYou will girdYourself.
The Jewspickedup stonesagainto stoneHim.
But the Phariseeswentout and conspiredagainstHim, [as to] howthey might destroyHim.
