ThenJesuscriedout in the temple,teachingand saying,"You bothknow Me and knowwhereI amfrom; and I have not comeof Myself,but He who sentMe is true,whomyou do not know.
And those who knowYour namewill puttheir trustin You, For You, O LORD,have not forsakenthose who seekYou.
"They will not teachagain,eachmanhis neighborand eachmanhis brother,saying,'Knowthe LORD,'for they will allknowMe, from the leastof them to the greatestof them," declaresthe LORD,"for I will forgivetheir iniquity,and their sinI will remembernomore."
"Your dwellingis in the midstof deceit;Through deceitthey refuseto knowMe," declaresthe LORD.
Listento the wordof the LORD,O sonsof Israel,For the LORDhas a caseagainstthe inhabitantsof the land,Becausethereis nofaithfulnessor kindnessOr knowledgeof Godin the land.
Their deedswill not allowthem To returnto their God.For a spiritof harlotryis withinthem, And they do not knowthe LORD.
"All thingshave been handed overto Me by My Father;and no oneknowsthe Sonexceptthe Father;nordoes anyoneknowthe Fatherexceptthe Son,and anyone to whomthe Sonwillsto reveal[Him].
and cameand livedin a citycalledNazareth.[This was] to fulfillwhatwas spokenthroughthe prophets:"He shall be calleda Nazarene."
At that timeJesussaidto the crowds,"Have you comeout with swordsand clubsto arrestMe as [you would] againsta robber?EverydayI used to sitin the templeteachingand you did not seizeMe.
"All thingshave been handed overto Me by My Father,and no oneknowswhothe Sonis exceptthe Father,and whothe Fatheris exceptthe Son,and anyone to whomthe Sonwillsto reveal[Him]."
for todayin the cityof Davidthere has been bornfor you a Savior,whois Christthe Lord.
Whenthey had performedeverythingaccordingto the Lawof the Lord,they returnedto Galilee,to their owncityof Nazareth.
Josephalsowentup from Galilee,from the cityof Nazareth,to Judea,to the cityof Davidwhichis calledBethlehem,becausehe was of the houseand familyof David,
And He went downwith them and cameto Nazareth,and He continued in subjectionto them; and His mothertreasuredall[these] thingsin her heart.
Nathanaelsaidto him, "Cananygood thingcomeout of Nazareth?"Philipsaidto him, "Comeand see."
do you sayof Him, whomthe Fathersanctifiedand sentinto the world,'You are blaspheming,'becauseI said,I amthe Sonof God'?
"For I did not speakon My own initiative,but the FatherHimselfwho sentMe has givenMe a commandment[as to] whatto sayand whatto speak.
"Do you not believethat I am in the Father,and the Fatheris in Me? The wordsthat I sayto you I do not speakon My own initiative,but the Fatherabidingin Me doesHis works.
but sothat the worldmay knowthat I lovethe Father,I doexactlyas the FathercommandedMe. Getup, let us gofrom here.
"These thingsthey will dobecausethey have not knownthe FatherorMe.
"O righteousFather,althoughthe worldhas not knownYou, yetI have knownYou; and thesehave knownthat You sentMe;
"Thisis eternallife,that they may knowYou, the onlytrue God,and JesusChristwhomYou have sent.
this mancameto Jesus by nightand saidto Him, "Rabbi,we knowthat You have comefrom God[as] a teacher;for no onecandothesesignsthat You dounlessGodis with him."
"He who has receivedHis testimonyhas set his sealto [this], that Godis true.
"There is anotherwho testifiesof Me, and I knowthat the testimonywhichHe givesaboutMe is true.
"I have comein My Father'sname,and you do not receiveMe; ifanothercomesin his ownname,you will receivehim.
They were saying,"Is not thisJesus,the sonof Joseph,whosefatherand motherwe know?Howdoes He nowsay,I have come downout of heaven'?"
But when it was nowthe midstof the feastJesuswentup into the temple,and [began to] teach.
Jesusansweredand saidto them, "Even ifI testifyaboutMyself,My testimonyis true,for I knowwhereI camefrom and whereI am going;but you do not knowwhereI comefrom orwhereI am going.
"But evenifI do judge,My judgmentis true;for I amnot alone[in it], but I and the Father who sentMe.
Sothey were sayingto Him, "Whereis Your Father?"Jesusanswered,"You knowneitherMe norMy Father;ifyou knew Me, you would knowMy Fatheralso."
"I havemany thingsto speakand to judgeconcerningyou, but He who sentMe is true;and the things whichI heardfrom Him, theseI speakto the world."
Jesussaidto them, "IfGodwere your Father,you would loveMe, for I proceeded forthand have comefrom God,for I have not evencomeon My own initiative,but He sentMe.
"We knowthat Godhas spokento Moses,but as for this man,we do not knowwhereHe is from."
"For while I was passing throughand examiningthe objects of your worship,I alsofoundan altarwith thisinscription,'TO AN UNKNOWNGOD.'Thereforewhatyou worshipin ignorance,thisI proclaimto you.
And justas they did not see fitto acknowledgeGodany longer, Godgave them overto a depravedmind,to dothosethings which are not proper,
May it neverbe! Rather,let Godbe foundtrue,thougheveryman[be found] a liar,as it is written,"THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIEDIN YOUR WORDS,AND PREVAILWHENYOU ARE JUDGED."
But as Godis faithful,our wordto you is not yesand no.
For God,who said,"Lightshall shineout of darkness,"is the One whohas shonein our heartsto give the Lightof the knowledgeof the gloryof Godin the faceof Christ.
in the hopeof eternallife,whichGod,who cannot lie,promisedlong agesago,
sothat by twounchangeablethingsin whichit is impossiblefor Godto lie,we who have taken refugewould havestrongencouragementto take holdof the hopeset beforeus.
The one who believesin the Sonof Godhasthe testimonyin himself;the one who does not believeGodhas madeHim a liar,becausehe has not believedin the testimonythat Godhas givenconcerningHis Son.
Now the sonsof Eliwere worthlessmen;they did not knowthe LORD
