"He was the lampthat was burningand was shiningand you were willingto rejoicefor a whilein his light.

the sonsof Israelwould seethe faceof Moses,that the skinof Moses'faceshone.So Moseswould replacethe veiloverhis faceuntilhe wentin to speakwith Him.
"They cometo you as peoplecome,and sitbeforeyou [as] My peopleand hearyour words,but they do not dothem, for they dothe lustfuldesires[expressed] by their mouth,[and] their heartgoesaftertheir gain.
"Those who haveinsightwill shinebrightlylike the brightnessof the expanseof heaven,and those who leadthe manyto righteousness,like the starsforeverand ever.
"TrulyI sayto you, amongthose bornof womenthere has not arisen[anyone] greaterthan Johnthe Baptist!Yetthe onewho is leastin the kingdomof heavenis greaterthan he.
"But ifwe say,'From men,'we fearthe people;for they allregardJohnas a prophet."
And allthe countryof Judeawas goingout to him, and allthe people of Jerusalem;and they were being baptizedby him in the JordanRiver,confessingtheir sins.
for Herodwas afraidof John,knowingthat he was a righteousand holyman,and he kept him safe.And when he heardhim, he was veryperplexed;but he used to enjoylisteningto him.
"I sayto you, amongthose bornof womenthere is no onegreaterthan John;yethe who is leastin the kingdomof Godis greaterthan he."
As a resultof thismanyof His discipleswithdrewand were not walkingwith Him anymore.
[So] we havethe propheticword[made] more sure,to whichyou dowellto pay attentionas to a lampshiningin a darkplace,untilthe daydawnsand the morning stararisesin your hearts.
