When Pilatesawthat he was accomplishingnothing,but ratherthat a riotwas starting,he tookwaterand washedhis handsin frontof the crowd,saying,"I aminnocentof this Man'sblood;see[to that] yourselves."
Jesussaidto him, "He who has bathedneedsonlyto washhis feet,but is completelyclean;and you are clean,but not all[of you]."
Petersaidto Him, "Nevershall You washmy feet!"Jesusansweredhim, "IfI do not washyou, you havenopartwith Me."
let us draw nearwith a sincereheartin full assuranceof faith,having our heartssprinkled[clean] from an evilconscienceand our bodieswashedwith purewater.
