But Jehoshaphatsaid,"Is therenot a prophetof the LORDhere,that we may inquireof the LORDby him?" And oneof the kingof Israel'sservantsansweredand said,"Elishathe sonof Shaphatis here,whoused to pourwateron the handsof Elijah."
"Blessedare thoseslaveswhomthe masterwill findon the alertwhen he comes;trulyI sayto you, that he will girdhimself [to serve], and have them recline[at the table], and will comeup and waiton them.
"Whichof you, havinga slaveplowingortending sheep,will sayto him when he has comein from the field,'Comeimmediatelyand sit downto eat'?
"But will he not sayto him, 'Preparesomethingfor me to eat,and [properly] clotheyourself and serveme whileI eatand drink;and afterwardyou may eatand drink'?
"For whois greater,the one who reclines[at the table] orthe one who serves?Is it not the one who reclines[at the table]? But I amamongyou as the one who serves.
SowhenHe had washedtheir feet,and takenHis garmentsand reclined[at the table] again,He saidto them, "Do you knowwhatI have doneto you?
For you knowthe graceof our LordJesusChrist,that though He was rich,yet for your sakeHe becamepoor,sothat you through His povertymight become rich.
For thisis the messagewhichyou have heardfrom the beginning,that we should loveone another;
