The LORDof hosts,who plantedyou, has pronouncedevilagainstyou becauseof the evilof the houseof Israeland of the houseof Judah,whichthey have doneto provokeMe by offeringup sacrificesto Baal.
"Allwho cameupon them have devouredthem; And their adversarieshave said,We are not guilty,Inasmuchas they have sinnedagainst the LORD[who is] the habitationof righteousness,Even the LORD,the hopeof their fathers.'
But Nebuzaradanthe captainof the guardleftsomeof the poorestof the landto be vinedressersand plowmen.
But ifyou do not obeyMe and do not carryout allthesecommandments,
"But it shall comeabout, ifyou do not obeythe LORDyour God,to observeto doallHis commandmentsand His statuteswith whichI chargeyou today,that allthesecurseswill comeupon you and overtakeyou:
"Then My angerwill be kindledagainst them in that day,and I will forsakethem and hideMy facefrom them, and they will be consumed,and manyevilsand troubleswill comeupon them; so that they will sayin that day,Is it not becauseour Godis not amongus that theseevilshave comeupon us?'
"The LORDsaw[this], and spurned[them] Becauseof the provocationof His sonsand daughters.
