For even ifyou had defeatedthe entirearmyof Chaldeanswho were fightingagainstyou, and there were [only] woundedmenleftamong them, eachmanin his tent,they would riseup and burnthiscitywith fire.'"
But ifyou will not goout to the officersof the kingof Babylon,then thiscitywill be givenover to the handof the Chaldeans;and they will burnit with fire,and you yourselfwill not escapefrom their hand.'"
They will also bringout allyour wivesand your sonsto the Chaldeans,and you yourselfwill not escapefrom their hand,but will be seizedby the handof the kingof Babylon,and thiscitywill be burnedwith fire.'"
