Allthe personsbelonging to Jacob,who cameto Egypt,his directdescendants,not includingthe wivesof Jacob'ssons,[were] sixty-sixpersonsin all,
Then Jacobsaidto Simeonand Levi,"You have broughttroubleon me by makingme odiousamong the inhabitantsof the land,among the Canaanitesand the Perizzites;and my menbeing fewin number,they will gathertogether againstme and attackme and I will be destroyed,I and my household."
Godalso saidto him, "I am GodAlmighty;Be fruitfuland multiply;A nationand a companyof nationsshall comefrom you, And kingsshall comeforthfrom you.
Now theseare the namesof the sonsof Israelwho cameto Egyptwith Jacob;they cameeachonewith his household:
Allthe personswho camefrom the loinsof Jacobwere seventyin number,but Josephwas [already] in Egypt.
"ThenJosephsent[word] and invitedJacobhis fatherand allhis relativesto come to him, seventy-fivepersons[in all].
"Your fatherswentdownto Egyptseventypersons[in all], and nowthe LORDyour Godhas madeyou as numerousas the starsof heaven.
