and bringyour youngestbrotherto me, so your wordsmay be verified,and you will not die."And they didso.
by thisyou will be tested:by the lifeof Pharaoh,you shall not gofrom thisplace unlessyour youngestbrothercomeshere!
ifyou are honestmen,let oneof your brothersbe confinedin your prison;but as for [the rest of] you, go,carrygrainfor the famineof your households,
So they loadedtheir donkeyswith their grainand departedfrom there.
"The man,the lordof the land,saidto us, 'By thisI will knowthat you are honestmen:leaveoneof your brotherswith me and take[grain for] the famineof your households,and go.
But bringyour youngestbrotherto me that I may knowthat you are not spies,but honestmen.I will giveyour brotherto you, and you may tradein the land.'"
So they camenearto Joseph'shousesteward,and spoketo him at the entranceof the house,
Judahspoketo him, however, saying,"The mansolemnlywarnedus, 'You shall not seemy faceunlessyour brotheris with you.'
"But ifyou do not send[him], we will not godown;for the mansaidto us, 'You will not seemy faceunlessyour brotheris with you.'"
"Then you saidto your servants,Bringhim downto me that I may setmy eyeson him.'
"You saidto your servants,however, 'Unlessyour youngestbrothercomesdownwith you, you will not seemy faceagain.'
Thus Noahdid;according to allthat Godhad commandedhim, sohe did.
His mothersaidto the servants,"WhateverHe saysto you, doit."
