Do not lieto one another,since you laid asidethe oldselfwith its [evil] practices,

Lyinglipsare an abominationto the LORD,But those who dealfaithfullyare His delight.
Theseare the thingswhichyou should do:speakthe truthto oneanother;judgewith truthand judgmentfor peacein your gates.
Keepdeceptionand liesfarfrom me, Giveme neitherpovertynorriches;Feedme with the foodthat is my portion,
Truthfullipswill be establishedforever,But a lyingtongueis onlyfor a moment.
"For your guiltteachesyour mouth,And you choosethe languageof the crafty.
Now Achishsaid,"Wherehave you madea raidtoday?"And Davidsaid,"Againstthe Negevof Judahand againstthe Negevof the Jerahmeelitesand againstthe Negevof the Kenites."
So he disguisedhis sanitybeforethem, and actedinsanelyin their hands,and scribbledon the doorsof the gate,and let his salivarundowninto his beard.
Davidsaidto Ahimelechthe priest,"The kinghas commissionedme with a matterand has saidto me, 'Let nooneknowanythingabout the matteron whichI am sendingyou and with whichI have commissionedyou; and I have directedthe youngmento a certainplace.'
The kingsaidto her, "Whatis your trouble?" And she answered,"TrulyI am a widow,for my husbandis dead.
He did not recognizehim, becausehis handswere hairylike his brotherEsau'shands;so he blessedhim.
So he said,"Bring[it] to me, and I will eatof my son'sgame,that I may blessyou." And he brought[it] to him, and he ate;he also broughthim wineand he drank.
He saidto him, "I alsoam a prophetlikeyou, and an angelspoketo me by the wordof the LORD,saying,'Bringhim backwith you to your house,that he may eatbreadand drinkwater.'"[But] he liedto him.
