Now Abrahamand Sarahwere old,advancedin age;Sarahwas pastchildbearing.
Then Abrahamfellon his faceand laughed,and saidin his heart,"Will a child be bornto a manone hundredyearsold?And will Sarah,who is ninetyyearsold,bear[a child]?"
Now Abrahamwas ninety-nineyearsoldwhen he was circumcisedin the fleshof his foreskin.
And she said,"Whowould have saidto Abrahamthat Sarahwould nursechildren?YetI have bornehim a sonin his oldage."
Now Abrahamwas old,advancedin age;and the LORDhad blessedAbrahamin everyway.
"Now Sarahmy master'swifeborea sonto my masterin her oldage,and he has givenhim allthat he has.
She saidto her father,"Let not my lordbe angrythat I cannotrisebeforeyou, for the mannerof womenis upon me." So he searchedbut did not findthe householdidols.
Whena womanhasa discharge,[if] her dischargein her bodyis blood,she shall continuein her menstrualimpurityfor sevendays;and whoevertouchesher shall be uncleanuntilevening.
Zachariassaidto the angel,"Howwill I knowthis[for certain]? For I aman old manand my wifeis advancedin years."
"And behold,evenyour relativeElizabethhas alsoconceiveda sonin her old age;and she who was calledbarrenis now in her sixthmonth.
But they hadnochild,becauseElizabethwas barren,and they were bothadvancedin years.
He consideredthat Godis ableto raise[people] evenfrom the dead,from whichhe alsoreceived him backas a type.
Now Joshuawas old[and] advancedin yearswhen the LORDsaidto him, "You are old[and] advancedin years,and verymuchof the landremainsto be possessed.
