Then Godsaid,"Let there be light";and there was light.
Thisis the accountof the heavensand the earthwhen they were created,in the daythat the LORDGodmadeearthand heaven.
"Behold,He spreadsHis lightningaboutHim, And He coversthe depthsof the sea.
"Whereis the wayto the dwellingof light?And darkness,whereis its place,
CoveringYourself with lightas with a cloak,Stretchingout heavenlike a [tent] curtain.
The LORDis God,and He has givenus light;Bindthe festivalsacrificewith cordsto the hornsof the altar.
Let them praisethe nameof the LORD,For He commandedand they were created.
By the wordof the LORDthe heavenswere made,And by the breathof His mouthalltheir host.
For He spoke,and it was done;He commanded,and it stoodfast.
Lightis sown[like seed] for the righteousAnd gladnessfor the uprightin heart.
The One forminglightand creatingdarkness,Causingwell-beingand creatingcalamity;I am the LORDwho doesallthese.
"Nolongerwill you havethe sunfor lightby day,Norfor brightnesswill the moongiveyou light;But you will havethe LORDfor an everlastinglight,And your Godfor your glory.
Jesus stretchedout His handand touchedhim, saying,"I am willing;be cleansed."And immediatelyhis leprosywas cleansed.
The Lightshinesin the darkness,and the darknessdid not comprehendit.
There was the true Lightwhich,cominginto the world,enlightenseveryman.
When He had saidthese things,He criedout with a loudvoice,"Lazarus,comeforth."
"Thisis the judgment,that the Lighthas comeinto the world,and menlovedthe darknessratherthanthe Light,for their deedswere evil.
For God,who said,"Lightshall shineout of darkness,"is the One whohas shonein our heartsto give the Lightof the knowledgeof the gloryof Godin the faceof Christ.
For this reasonit says,"Awake,sleeper,And arisefrom the dead,And Christwill shineon you."
for you were formerlydarkness,but nowyou are Lightin the Lord;walkas childrenof Light
who alonepossessesimmortalityand dwellsin unapproachablelight,whomnomanhas seenorcansee.To Him [be] honorand eternaldominion!Amen.
Thisis the messagewe have heardfrom Him and announceto you, that Godis Light,and in Him there is nodarknessat all.
On the other hand,I am writinga newcommandmentto you, whichis true in Him and in you, becausethe darknessis passing awayand the true Lightis alreadyshining.
