They eagerlyseekyou, not commendably, but they wishto shutyou out sothat you will seekthem.
"Woeto you, scribesand Pharisees, hypocrites, becauseyou travel aroundon seaand landto makeoneproselyte;and whenhe becomesone, you makehim twice as mucha sonof hellas yourselves.
For I testifyabout them that they havea zealfor God,but not in accordancewith knowledge.
For such menare slaves, not of our LordChristbut of their ownappetites;and by their smoothand flattering speechthey deceivethe heartsof the unsuspecting.
NowI praiseyou becauseyou rememberme in everythingand hold firmlyto the traditions, justas I deliveredthem to you.

You are alreadyfilled, you have alreadybecome rich, you have becomekingswithoutus; and indeed,[I] wishthat you had become kingssothat we alsomight reignwith you.
But I am afraidthat, as the serpentdeceivedEveby his craftiness, your mindswill be led astrayfrom the simplicityand purity[of devotion] to Christ.
Sohave I becomeyour enemyby telling you the truth?
But it is goodalwaysto be eagerly soughtin a commendable manner, and not onlywhenI am presentwith you.
For they allseek aftertheir owninterests, not thoseof ChristJesus.
For speakingout arrogant[words] of vanitythey enticeby fleshlydesires,by sensuality, thosewho barelyescapefrom the ones who livein error,
and in [their] greedthey will exploityou with false words;their judgmentfrom long agois not idle, and their destructionis not asleep.
