"WhenPharaohspeaksto you, saying,Worka miracle,'then you shall sayto Aaron,Takeyour staffand throw[it] downbeforePharaoh,[that] it may becomea serpent.'"
So Mosesstretchedout his staffoverthe landof Egypt,and the LORDdirectedan eastwindon the landallthat dayand allthat night;and when it was morning,the eastwindbroughtthe locusts.
"You shall takein your handthisstaff,with whichyou shall performthe signs."
The LORDsaidto him, "Whatis that in your hand?"And he said,"A staff."
So Mosestookhis wifeand his sonsand mountedthem on a donkey,and returnedto the landof Egypt.Mosesalso tookthe staffof Godin his hand.
Then He said,"Throwit on the ground."So he threwit on the ground,and it becamea serpent;and Mosesfledfrom it.
Now the LORDspoketo Mosesand Aaron,saying,
Mosesstretchedout his stafftowardthe sky,and the LORDsentthunderand hail,and firerandown to the earth.And the LORDrainedhailon the landof Egypt.
"Aska signfor yourself from the LORDyour God;make[it] deepas Sheolorhighas heaven."
"Speakand say,'Thussaysthe LordGOD,"Behold,I am againstyou, Pharaohkingof Egypt,The greatmonsterthat liesin the midstof his rivers,That has said,'My Nileis mine, and I myselfhave made[it].'
But He answeredand saidto them, "An eviland adulterousgenerationcravesfor a sign;and [yet] nosignwill be givento it but the signof Jonahthe prophet;
but ifI dothem, thoughyou do not believeMe, believethe works,sothat you may knowand understandthat the Fatheris in Me, and I in the Father."
The Jewsthensaidto Him, "Whatsigndo You showus as your authority for doingthese things?"
Sothey saidto Him, "Whatthendo You dofor a sign,sothat we may see,and believeYou? Whatwork do You perform?
