They did not seeoneanother,nordid anyonerisefrom his placefor threedays,but allthe sonsof Israelhadlightin their dwellings.
So it camebetweenthe campof Egyptand the campof Israel;and there was the cloudalong with the darkness,yet it gavelightat night.Thus the onedid not comenearthe otherallnight.
Sevendayspassedafterthe LORDhad struckthe Nile.
The magicianstriedwith their secretartsto bringforthgnats,but they couldnot; so there were gnatson manand beast.
Then the magicianssaidto Pharaoh,"Thisis the fingerof God."But Pharaoh'sheartwas hardened,and he did not listento them, as the LORDhad said.
"But on that dayI will setapartthe landof Goshen,whereMy peopleare living,so that noswarmsof insects will be there,in orderthat you may knowthat I, the LORD,am in the midstof the land.
Onlyin the landof Goshen,wherethe sonsof Israel[were], there was nohail.
"But the LORDwill makea distinctionbetweenthe livestockof Israeland the livestockof Egypt,so that nothingwill dieof allthat belongs to the sonsof Israel."'"

But when they criedout to the LORD,He putdarknessbetweenyou and the Egyptians,and broughtthe seaupon them and coveredthem; and your own eyessawwhatI didin Egypt.And you livedin the wildernessfor a longtime.
But you are A CHOSENRACE,A royalPRIESTHOOD,A HOLYNATION,A PEOPLEFOR [God's] OWN POSSESSION,sothat you may proclaimthe excellenciesof Him who has calledyou out of darknessinto His marvelouslight;
