Now in the twelfthmonth(that is, the monthAdar),on the thirteenthdaywhenthe king'scommandand edictwere about to be executed,on the daywhenthe enemiesof the Jewshopedto gainthe masteryoverthem, it was turnedto the contrary so that the Jewsthemselvesgainedthe masteryoverthose who hatedthem.
"You have also mademy enemiesturn[their] backsto me, And I destroyedthose who hatedme.
Letterswere sentby couriersto allthe king'sprovincesto destroy,to killand to annihilateallthe Jews,bothyoungand old,womenand children,in oneday,the thirteenth[day] of the twelfthmonth,whichis the monthAdar,and to seizetheir possessionsas plunder.
In the firstmonth,whichis the monthNisan,in the twelfthyearof KingAhasuerus,Pur,that is the lot,was castbeforeHamanfrom dayto dayand from month[to month], until the twelfthmonth,that is the monthAdar.
on onedayin allthe provincesof KingAhasuerus,the thirteenth[day] of the twelfthmonth(that is, the monthAdar).
"For howcanI endureto seethe calamitywhichwill befallmy people,and howcanI endureto seethe destructionof my kindred?"
[This was done] on the thirteenthdayof the monthAdar,and on the fourteenthday they restedand madeit a dayof feastingand rejoicing.
You have also mademy enemiesturntheir backsto me, And I destroyedthose who hatedme.
You have turnedfor me my mourninginto dancing;You have loosedmy sackclothand girdedme with gladness,
When Petercameto himself,he said,"NowI knowfor surethat the Lordhas sent forthHis angeland rescuedme from the handof Herodand from allthat the Jewishpeoplewere expecting."
"For the LORDwill vindicateHis people,And will havecompassionon His servants,WhenHe seesthat [their] strengthis gone,And thereis none[remaining], bondor free.
"And the nationswere enraged,and Your wrathcame,and the time[came] for the deadto be judged,and [the time] to rewardYour bond-servantsthe prophetsand the saintsand thosewho fearYour name,the smalland the great,and to destroythosewho destroythe earth."
