"Has [any] peopleheardthe voiceof Godspeakingfrom the midstof the fire,as you have heard[it], and survived?
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Thusyou shall sayto the sonsof Israel,'You yourselveshave seenthat I have spokento you from heaven.
Yet He did not stretchout His handagainstthe noblesof the sonsof Israel;and they sawGod,and they ateand drank.
But He said,"You cannotseeMy face,for nomancan seeMe and live!"
"Out of the heavensHe let you hearHis voiceto disciplineyou; and on earthHe let you seeHis greatfire,and you heardHis wordsfrom the midstof the fire.
"Thesewordsthe LORDspoketo allyour assemblyat the mountainfrom the midstof the fire,[of] the cloudand [of] the thickgloom,with a greatvoice,and He addednomore.He wrotethem on twotabletsof stoneand gavethem to me.
"You said,'Behold,the LORDour Godhas shownus His gloryand His greatness,and we have heardHis voicefrom the midstof the fire;we have seentodaythat Godspeakswith man,yet he lives.
For whois there of allfleshwhohas heardthe voiceof the livingGodspeakingfrom the midstof the fire,as we [have], and lived?
"The LORDspoketo you faceto faceat the mountainfrom the midstof the fire,
"The LORDgaveme the twotabletsof stonewrittenby the fingerof God;and on them [were] allthe wordswhichthe LORDhad spokenwith you at the mountainfrom the midstof the fireon the dayof the assembly.
When Gideonsawthat he was the angelof the LORD,he said,"Alas,O LordGOD!For nowI have seenthe angelof the LORDfaceto face."
