Then Israelstruckhim with the edgeof the sword,and tookpossessionof his landfrom the Arnonto the Jabbok,as faras the sonsof Ammon;for the borderof the sonsof Ammon[was] Jazer.
When you comeoppositethe sonsof Ammon,do not harassthem norprovokethem, for I will not giveyou anyof the landof the sonsof Ammonas a possession,becauseI have givenit to the sonsof Lotas a possession.'

Sihonkingof the Amorites,who livedin Heshbon,[and] ruledfrom Aroer,whichis on the edgeof the valleyof the Arnon,both the middleof the valleyand halfof Gilead,even as faras the brookJabbok,the borderof the sonsof Ammon;
and they saidto him, "ThussaysJephthah,'Israeldid not takeaway the landof Moabnorthe landof the sonsof Ammon.
So they possessedallthe territoryof the Amorites,from the Arnonas faras the Jabbok,and from the wildernessas faras the Jordan.
