"Whenthe LORDyour Godcutsoffthe nations,whoselandthe LORDyour Godgivesyou, and you dispossessthem and settlein their citiesand in their houses,
"But ifhe did not liein wait[for him], but Godlet[him] fallinto his hand,then I will appointyou a placeto whichhe may flee.
then you shall selectfor yourselves citiesto be your citiesof refuge,that the manslayerwho has killedany personunintentionallymay fleethere.
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,saying,
"Theseare the statutesand the judgmentswhichyou shall carefullyobservein the landwhichthe LORD,the Godof your fathers,has givenyou to possessas longas you liveon the earth.
"Whenthe LORDyour Godcutsoffbeforeyou the nationswhichyou are goingin to dispossess,and you dispossessthem and dwellin their land,
"Whenyou enterthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godgivesyou, and you possessit and livein it, and you say,I will seta kingoverme like allthe nationswhoare aroundme,'
"Then it shall comeabout whenthe LORDyour Godbringsyou into the landwhichHe sworeto your fathers,Abraham,Isaacand Jacob,to giveyou, greatand splendidcitieswhichyou did not build,
and housesfullof allgoodthingswhichyou did not fill,and hewncisternswhichyou did not dig,vineyardsand olivetreeswhichyou did not plant,and you eatand are satisfied,
Then the LORDspoketo Joshua,saying,
I gaveyou a landon whichyou had not labored,and citieswhichyou had not built,and you have livedin them; you are eatingof vineyardsand olivegroveswhichyou did not plant.'
