Moreover, Shaphanthe scribetoldthe kingsaying,"Hilkiahthe priesthas givenme a book."And Shaphanreadit in the presenceof the king.
But his delightis in the lawof the LORD,And in His lawhe meditatesdayand night.
"You searchthe Scripturesbecauseyou thinkthat in them you haveeternallife;it is thesethat testifyaboutMe;
"You shall therefore impressthesewordsof mine on your heartand on your soul;and you shall bindthem as a signon your hand,and they shall be as frontalson your forehead.
"[Remember] the dayyou stoodbeforethe LORDyour Godat Horeb,when the LORDsaidto me, 'Assemblethe peopleto Me, that I may let them hearMy wordssothey may learnto fearMe allthe daysthey liveon the earth,and that they may teachtheir children.'
"Onlygiveheedto yourself and keepyour souldiligently,sothat you do not forgetthe thingswhichyour eyeshave seenand they do not departfrom your heartallthe daysof your life;but makethem knownto your sonsand your grandsons.
Then MosessummonedallIsraeland saidto them: "Hear,O Israel,the statutesand the ordinanceswhichI am speakingtodayin your hearing,that you may learnthem and observethem carefully.
"Thisbookof the lawshall not departfrom your mouth,but you shall meditateon it dayand night,sothat you may be carefulto doaccording to allthat is writtenin it; for thenyou will makeyour wayprosperous,and thenyou will havesuccess.
