He gave[me] instructionand talkedwith me and said,"O Daniel,I have nowcomeforthto giveyou insightwith understanding.
He saidto me, "O Daniel,manof highesteem,understandthe wordsthat I am about to tellyou and standupright,for I have nowbeen sentto you." And when he had spokenthiswordto me, I stoodup trembling.
Then he saidto me, "Do not be afraid,Daniel,for from the firstdaythat you setyour hearton understanding[this] and on humblingyourself beforeyour God,your wordswere heard,and I have comein response to your words.
"Now I have cometo giveyou an understandingof whatwill happento your peoplein the latterdays,for the visionpertains to the daysyet[future]."
"However,I will tellyou what is inscribedin the writingof truth.Yet thereis noonewho standsfirmlywith me againstthese[forces] exceptMichaelyour prince.
"I approachedoneof those who were standingby and began askinghim the exactmeaningof allthis.So he toldme and madeknownto me the interpretationof these things:
And I heardthe voiceof a manbetween[the banks of] Ulai,and he calledout and said,"Gabriel,givethis[man] an understandingof the vision."
Surelythe LordGODdoesnothingUnlessHe revealsHis secretcounselTo His servantsthe prophets.
So the angelwho was speakingwith me saidto me, "Proclaim,saying,'Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,"I am exceedinglyjealousfor Jerusalemand Zion.
Then I said,"My lord,whatare these?"And the angelwho was speakingwith me saidto me, "I will showyou whattheseare."
Afterthese thingsI looked,and behold,a door[standing] openin heaven,and the firstvoicewhichI had heard,like[the sound] of a trumpetspeakingwith me, said,"Comeup here,and I will showyou whatmusttake placeafterthese things."
