so that they might requestcompassionfrom the Godof heavenconcerningthismystery,sothat Danieland his friendswould not be destroyedwith the restof the wisemenof Babylon.
"Supposethe fiftyrighteousare lackingfive,will You destroythe wholecitybecause of five?"And He said,"I will not destroy[it] ifI findforty-fivethere."
Givethanksto the Godof heaven,For His lovingkindnessis everlasting.
Callupon Me in the dayof trouble;I shall rescueyou, and you will honorMe."
"He will callupon Me, and I will answerhim; I will be with him in trouble;I will rescuehim and honorhim.
Perhapsthe LORDyour Godwill hearthe wordsof Rabshakeh,whomhis masterthe kingof Assyriahas sentto reproachthe livingGod,and will rebukethe wordswhichthe LORDyour Godhas heard.Therefore, offera prayerfor the remnantthat is left.'"
Callto Me and I will answeryou, and I will tellyou greatand mightythings,which you do not know.'
Thussaysthe LordGOD,"ThisalsoI will let the houseof IsraelaskMe to dofor them: I will increasetheir menlike a flock.
"To You, O Godof my fathers,I givethanksand praise,For You have givenme wisdomand power;Even nowYou have madeknownto me whatwe requestedof You, For You have madeknownto us the king'smatter."
"Ifit be [so], our Godwhomwe serveis ableto deliverus from the furnaceof blazingfire;and He will deliverus out of your hand,O king.
And in that it was commandedto leavethe stumpwith the rootsof the tree,your kingdomwill be assuredto you afteryou recognizethat [it is] Heaven[that] rules.
He saidto them, "I am a Hebrew,and I fearthe LORDGodof heavenwhomadethe seaand the dryland."
So you will againdistinguishbetweenthe righteousand the wicked,betweenone who servesGodand one whodoes not serveHim.
"Whatdo you think?Ifanymanhasa hundredsheep,and oneof them has goneastray,does he not leavethe ninety-nineon the mountainsand goand searchfor the one that is straying?
"AgainI sayto you, that iftwoof you agreeon earthaboutanythingthat they may ask,it shall be donefor them by My Fatherwho is in heaven.
When he had seizedhim, he puthim in prison,deliveringhim to foursquadsof soldiersto guardhim, intendingafterthe Passoverto bringhim out before the people.
NowI urgeyou, brethren,by our LordJesusChristand by the loveof the Spirit,to strive togetherwith me in your prayersto Godfor me,
[then] the Lordknows howto rescuethe godlyfrom temptation,and to keepthe unrighteousunder punishmentfor the dayof judgment,
And Davidsaid,"The LORDwhodeliveredme from the pawof the lionand from the pawof the bear,He will deliverme from the handof thisPhilistine."And Saulsaidto David,"Go,and may the LORDbe with you."
