TerahtookAbramhis son,and Lotthe sonof Haran,his grandson,and Saraihis daughter-in-law,his sonAbram'swife;and they wentout togetherfrom Urof the Chaldeansin order to enterthe landof Canaan;and they wentas faras Haran,and settledthere.
Now the LORDsaidto Abram,"Goforth from your country,And from your relativesAnd from your father'shouse,To the landwhichI will showyou;
AbramtookSaraihis wifeand Lothis nephew,and alltheir possessionswhichthey had accumulated,and the personswhichthey had acquiredin Haran,and they setout for the landof Canaan;thus they cameto the landof Canaan.
And He saidto him, "I am the LORDwhobroughtyou out of Urof the Chaldeans,to giveyou thislandto possessit."
Jacobsaidto them, "My brothers,whereare you from?" And they said,"We are from Haran."
"You are the LORDGod,WhochoseAbramAnd broughthim out from Urof the Chaldees,And gavehim the nameAbraham.
Whois thisKingof glory?The LORDof hosts,He is the Kingof glory.Selah.
Liftup your heads,O gates,And be liftedup, O ancientdoors,That the Kingof glorymay comein!
The voiceof the LORDis upon the waters;The Godof glorythunders,The LORDis overmanywaters.
Did the godsof those nationswhichmy fathershave destroyeddeliverthem, [even] Gozanand Haranand Rezephand the sonsof Edenwho[were] in Telassar?
"Lookto Abrahamyour fatherAnd to Sarahwho gavebirthto you in pain;When[he] [was but] oneI calledhim, Then I blessedhim and multipliedhim."
And onecalledout to anotherand said,"Holy,Holy,Holy,is the LORDof hosts,The wholeearthis fullof His glory."
And do not leadus into temptation,but deliverus from evil.[For Yoursis the kingdomand the powerand the gloryforever.Amen].'
"Gloryto Godin the highest,And on earthpeaceamongmenwith whom He is pleased."
And the Wordbecameflesh,and dweltamongus, and we sawHis glory,gloryas of the only begottenfrom the Father,fullof graceand truth.
These thingsIsaiahsaidbecausehe sawHis glory,and he spokeof Him.
"Brethrenand fathers,hearmy defensewhich I now[offer] to you."
As he saidthis,there occurreda dissensionbetween the Phariseesand Sadducees,and the assemblywas divided.
The high priestsaid,"Are these thingsso?"
[the wisdom] whichnoneof the rulersof thisagehas understood;for ifthey had understoodit they would not have crucifiedthe Lordof glory;
that the Godof our LordJesusChrist,the Fatherof glory,may giveto you a spiritof wisdomand of revelationin the knowledgeof Him.
lookingfor the blessedhopeand the appearingof the gloryof our greatGodand Savior,ChristJesus,
And He is the radianceof His gloryand the exact representationof His nature,and upholdsall thingsby the wordof His power.When He had madepurificationof sins,He sat downat the right handof the Majestyon high,
By faithAbraham,when he was called,obeyedby goingout to a placewhichhe was to receivefor an inheritance;and he wentout, not knowingwherehe was going.
My brethren,do not holdyour faithin our gloriousLordJesusChristwith [an attitude of] personal favoritism.
Joshuasaidto allthe people,"Thussaysthe LORD,the Godof Israel,'From ancienttimesyour fatherslivedbeyondthe River,[namely], Terah,the fatherof Abrahamand the fatherof Nahor,and they servedothergods.
"Worthyare You, our Lordand our God,to receivegloryand honorand power;for You createdall things,and becauseof Your willthey existed,and were created."
