Sothe twelvesummonedthe congregationof the disciplesand said,"It is not desirablefor us to neglectthe wordof Godin order to servetables.
So I sentmessengersto them, saying,"I am doinga greatworkand I cannotcomedown.Whyshould the workstopwhileI leaveit and comedownto you?"
"What,then,is [to be done]? They will certainlyhearthat you have come.
"For it seemsabsurdto me in sendinga prisoner,not to indicatealsothe chargesagainsthim."
But Peterand Johnansweredand saidto them, "Whetherit is rightin the sightof Godto give heedto you ratherthanto God,you be the judge;
Nowat thistimewhile the discipleswere increasing[in number], a complaintaroseon the part of the Hellenistic[Jews] againstthe [native] Hebrews,becausetheir widowswere being overlookedin the dailyserving[of food].
"Therefore,brethren,selectfrom amongyou sevenmenof good reputation,fullof the Spiritand of wisdom,whomwe may put in chargeof thistask.
Nosoldier in active serviceentangleshimself in the affairsof everyday life,sothat he may pleasethe one who enlisted him as a soldier.
