"But sothat it will not spreadanyfurtheramongthe people,let us warnthem to speakno longerto anymanin thisname."
Then the officialssaidto the king,"Nowlet thismanbe putto death,inasmuchas he is discouragingthe menof warwho are leftin thiscityand allthe people,by speakingsuchwordsto them; for thismanis not seekingthe well-beingof thispeoplebut rathertheir harm."
"But you made the Naziritesdrinkwine,And you commandedthe prophetssaying,You shall not prophesy!'
"Therefore,give ordersfor the graveto be made secureuntilthe thirdday,otherwiseHis disciplesmay comeand steal Him awayand sayto the people,'He has risenfrom the dead,'and the lastdeceptionwill be worsethan the first."
And their eyeswere opened.And Jesussternly warnedthem: "Seethat no oneknows[about this]!"
"But allthese thingsthey will doto you for My name'ssake,becausethey do not knowthe One who sentMe.
When they had threatened them further,they let them go(findingno basison which to punishthem) on accountof the people,becausethey were allglorifyingGodfor what had happened;
Nowwhenthe captainof the temple[guard] and the chief priestsheardthesewords,they were greatly perplexedaboutthem as to whatwould comeof this.
saying,"We gaveyou strict ordersnot to continue teachingin thisname,and yet,you have filledJerusalemwith your teachingand intendto bringthisman'sbloodupon us."
And masters,dothe samethingsto them, and giveup threatening,knowingthat boththeir Masterand yoursis in heaven,and there is nopartialitywith Him.
For the wordof the Lordhas sounded forthfrom you, not onlyin Macedoniaand Achaia,but also in everyplaceyour faithtowardGodhas gone forth,sothat we havenoneedto sayanything.
and while being reviled,He did not revile in return;while suffering,He utterednothreats,but kept entrusting[Himself] to Him who judgesrighteously;
