Do you not rememberthat while I was stillwith you, I was tellingyou these things?

"HAVINGEYES,DO YOU NOT SEE?AND HAVINGEARS,DO YOU NOT HEAR?And do you not remember,
"But these thingsI have spokento you, sothat whentheir hourcomes,you may rememberthat I toldyou of them. These thingsI did not sayto you at the beginning,becauseI was with you.
"Thereforebe on the alert,rememberingthat nightand dayfor a period of three yearsI did not ceaseto admonisheachonewith tears.
envying,drunkenness,carousing,and things likethese,of whichI forewarnyou, justas I have forewarnedyou, that thosewho practicesuch thingswill not inheritthe kingdomof God.
justas you knowhowwe [were] exhortingand encouragingand imploringeachoneof you as a father[would] his ownchildren,
For indeedwhenwe were with you, we [kept] telling you in advancethat we were goingto suffer affliction;and soit came to pass,as you know.
And you knowwhat restrainshim now,sothat in his timehe will be revealed.
For evenwhenwe were with you, we used to giveyou thisorder:ifanyoneis not willingto work,thenhe is not to eat,either.
And I will alsobe diligentthat at any timeaftermy departureyou will be ableto callthese thingsto mind.
