The LORDteststhe righteousand the wicked,And the one who lovesviolenceHis soulhates.
With their wickednessthey makethe kingglad,And the princeswith their lies.
"You who hategoodand loveevil,Who tearofftheir skinfrom them And their fleshfrom their bones,
They were gladwhen they heard[this], and promisedto givehim money.And he [began] seekinghowto betrayHim at an opportune time.
"He who has believedand has been baptizedshall be saved;but he who has disbelievedshall be condemned.
"He who believesin the Sonhaseternallife;but he who does not obeythe Sonwill not seelife,but the wrathof Godabideson him."
and although they knowthe ordinanceof God,that thosewho practicesuch thingsare worthyof death,they not onlydothe same,but alsogive hearty approvalto thosewho practicethem.
[Let] love[be] without hypocrisy.Abhorwhat is evil;clingto what is good.
but to thosewho are selfishly ambitiousand do not obeythe truth,but obeyunrighteousness,wrathand indignation.
does not rejoicein unrighteousness,but rejoiceswith the truth;
Vengeanceis Mine, and retribution,In due timetheir footwill slip;For the dayof their calamityis near,And the impendingthingsare hasteningupon them.'
For Godhas not destinedus for wrath,but for obtainingsalvationthroughour LordJesusChrist,
and with allthe deceptionof wickednessfor thosewho perish,becausethey did not receivethe loveof the truthsoas to be saved.
and in [their] greedthey will exploityou with false words;their judgmentfrom long agois not idle,and their destructionis not asleep.
Beloved,do not imitatewhat is evil,but what is good.The one who does goodis of God;the one who does evilhas not seenGod.
