So Joabsentto Tekoaand broughta wisewomanfrom thereand saidto her, "Pleasepretendto be a mourner,and puton mourninggarmentsnow,and do not anointyourself with oil,but be like a womanwho has been mourningfor the deadmanydays;
So he approachedher, and the womansaid,"Are you Joab?"And he answered,"I am." Then she saidto him, "Listento the wordsof your maidservant."And he answered,"I am listening."
Then the womanwiselycameto allthe people.And they cutoffthe headof Shebathe sonof Bichriand threwit to Joab.So he blewthe trumpet,and they were dispersedfrom the city,eachto his tent.Joabalso returnedto the kingat Jerusalem.
