Then he said,"At thisseasonnextyearyou will embracea son."And she said,"No,my lord,O manof God,do not lieto your maidservant."
He said,"I will surelyreturnto you at this timenextyear;and behold,Sarahyour wifewill have a son."And Sarahwas listeningat the tentdoor,whichwas behindhim.
But the angelsaidto him, "Do not be afraid,Zacharias,for your petitionhas been heard,and your wifeElizabethwill bearyou a son,and you will givehim the nameJohn.
Then she said,"Did I askfor a sonfrom my lord?Did I not say,Do not deceiveme'?"
"But My covenantI will establishwith Isaac,whomSarahwill bearto you at thisseasonnextyear."
I saidin my alarm,"Allmenare liars."
Then the menof the citysaidto Elisha,"Beholdnow, the situationof this cityis pleasant,as my lordsees;but the wateris badand the landis unfruitful."
So she saidto Elijah,"Whatdo I have to do with you, O manof God?You have cometo me to bringmy iniquityto remembranceand to putmy sonto death!"
He said,"Whatsinhave I committed,that you are givingyour servantinto the handof Ahabto putme to death?
He said,"Callher." When he had calledher, she stoodin the doorway.
The womanconceivedand borea sonat that seasonthe nextyear,as Elishahad saidto her.
Then the womansaidto Elijah,"NowI knowthat you are a manof Godand that the wordof the LORDin your mouthis truth."
