Now it cameabout in the thirty-seventhyearof the exileof Jehoiachinkingof Judah,in the twelfthmonth,on the twenty-seventh[day] of the month,that Evil-merodachkingof Babylon,in the yearthat he becameking,releasedJehoiachinkingof Judahfrom prison;
within threemoredaysPharaohwill liftup your headand restoreyou to your office;and you will putPharaoh'scupinto his handaccording to your formercustomwhenyou were his cupbearer.
Thus it cameabout on the thirdday,[which was] Pharaoh'sbirthday,that he madea feastfor allhis servants;and he liftedup the headof the chiefcupbearerand the headof the chiefbakeramonghis servants.
Jehoiachinthe kingof Judahwentout to the kingof Babylon,he and his motherand his servantsand his captainsand his officials.So the kingof Babylontookhim captive in the eighthyearof his reign.
So he ledJehoiachinawayinto exileto Babylon;also the king'smotherand the king'swivesand his officialsand the leadingmenof the land,he ledaway into exilefrom Jerusalemto Babylon.
The king'sheartis [like] channelsof waterin the handof the LORD;He turnsit whereverHe wishes.
"I will hurlyou and your motherwhoboreyou into anothercountrywhereyou were not born,and thereyou will die.
I am also going to bringbackto thisplaceJeconiahthe sonof Jehoiakim,kingof Judah,and allthe exilesof Judahwho wentto Babylon,'declaresthe LORD,'for I will breakthe yokeof the kingof Babylon.'"
Then Jeremiahsaidto Zedekiah,"Thussaysthe LORDGodof hosts,the Godof Israel,'Ifyou will indeedgoout to the officersof the kingof Babylon,then you will live,thiscitywill not be burnedwith fire,and you and your householdwill survive.
