Then he said,"Takethe arrows,"and he tookthem. And he saidto the kingof Israel,"Strikethe ground,"and he struck[it] threetimesand stopped.
He said,"Openthe windowtoward the east,"and he opened[it]. Then Elishasaid,"Shoot!"And he shot.And he said,"The LORD'Sarrowof victory,even the arrowof victoryover Aram;for you will defeatthe Arameansat Aphekuntilyou have destroyed[them]."
So the manof Godwas angrywith him and said,"You should have struckfiveorsixtimes,thenyou would have struckAramuntilyou would have destroyed[it]. But nowyou shall strikeAram[only] threetimes."
Then Jehoashthe sonof Jehoahaztookagainfrom the handof Ben-hadadthe sonof Hazaelthe citieswhichhe hadtakenin warfrom the handof Jehoahazhis father.ThreetimesJoashdefeatedhim and recoveredthe citiesof Israel.
When the vesselswere full,she saidto her son,"Bringme anothervessel."And he saidto her, "Thereis not onevesselmore."And the oilstopped.
So it cameabout whenMosesheldhis handup, that Israelprevailed,and whenhe let his handdown,Amalekprevailed.
