I wishthat you would bearwith me in a littlefoolishness;but indeedyou are bearingwith me.
She saidto her mistress,"I wishthat my masterwere with the prophetwhois in Samaria!Thenhe would curehim of his leprosy."
But Mosessaidto him, "Are you jealousfor my sake? Wouldthat allthe LORD'Speoplewere prophets,that the LORDwould putHis Spiritupon them!"
And Jesusansweredand said,"You unbelievingand pervertedgeneration,howlongshall I be with you? How longshall I putup with you? Bringhim hereto Me."
But when Paulwas aboutto openhis mouth,Galliosaidto the Jews,"Ifit were a matterof wrongorof viciouscrime,OJews,it would be reasonablefor me to putup with you;
And Paul[said], "I would wishto God,that whetherin a shortorlong time,not onlyyou, but alsoallwho hearme this day,might becomesuchas I am,exceptfor thesechains."
For sincein the wisdomof Godthe worldthroughits wisdomdid not [come to] knowGod,Godwas well-pleasedthroughthe foolishnessof the message preachedto savethosewho believe.
Let no mandeceivehimself.Ifany manamongyou thinksthat he is wisein thisage,he must becomefoolish,sothat he may becomewise.
We are foolsfor Christ'ssake,but you are prudentin Christ;we are weak,but you are strong;you are distinguished,but we are without honor.
You are alreadyfilled,you have alreadybecome rich,you have becomekingswithoutus; and indeed,[I] wishthat you had become kingssothat we alsomight reignwith you.
For you, being[so] wise,toleratethe foolishgladly.
To [my] shameI [must] saythat we have been weak[by comparison]. But in whateverrespect anyone[else] is bold--I speakin foolishness--I amjustas boldmyself.
For ifone comesand preachesanotherJesuswhomwe have not preached,oryou receivea differentspiritwhichyou have not received,ora differentgospelwhichyou have not accepted,you bear[this] beautifully.
I have becomefoolish;you yourselvescompelledme. ActuallyI shouldhave been commendedby you, for in norespectwas I inferiorto the most eminentapostles,eventhoughI ama nobody.
For ifwe are beside ourselves,it is for God;ifwe are of sound mind,it is for you.
he candeal gentlywith the ignorantand misguided,sincehe himselfalsois besetwith weakness;
Joshuasaid,"Alas,O LordGOD,whydid You everbringthispeopleoverthe Jordan,[only] to deliverus into the handof the Amorites,to destroyus? Ifonlywe had been willingto dwellbeyondthe Jordan!
