Now the restof the actsof Hezekiahand allhis might,and howhe madethe pooland the conduitand broughtwaterinto the city,are they not writtenin the Bookof the Chroniclesof the Kingsof Judah?
For the kingand his princesand allthe assemblyin Jerusalemhad decidedto celebratethe Passoverin the secondmonth,
Now when Hezekiahsawthat Sennacheribhad comeand that he intendedto make waron Jerusalem,
It was Hezekiahwho stoppedthe upperoutletof the watersof Gihonand directedthem to the westsideof the cityof David.And Hezekiahprosperedin allthat he did.
So manypeopleassembledand stoppedup allthe springsand the streamwhich flowedthroughthe region,saying,"Whyshould the kingsof Assyriacomeand findabundantwater?"
Withoutconsultation,plansare frustrated,But with manycounselorsthey succeed.
Prepareplansby consultation,And makewarby wiseguidance.
For by wiseguidanceyou will wagewar,And in abundanceof counselorsthere is victory.
Whohas directedthe Spiritof the LORD,Or as His counselorhas informedHim?
Drawfor yourself waterfor the siege!Strengthenyour fortifications!Gointo the clayand treadthe mortar!Takeholdof the brickmold!
For WHOHAS KNOWNTHE MINDOF THE LORD,ORWHOBECAMEHIS COUNSELOR?
