He had brothers,the sonsof Jehoshaphat:Azariah,Jehiel,Zechariah,Azaryahu,Michaeland Shephatiah.Allthese[were] the sonsof Jehoshaphatkingof Israel.
So the princesof Israeland the kinghumbledthemselves and said,"The LORDis righteous."
Now when Jehoramhad takenoverthe kingdomof his fatherand madehimself secure,he killedallhis brotherswith the sword,and someof the rulersof Israelalso.
They wentthroughoutJudahand gatheredthe Levitesfrom allthe citiesof Judah,and the headsof the fathers'[households] of Israel,and they cameto Jerusalem.
They buriedhim in the cityof Davidamongthe kings,becausehe had donewellin Israeland to Godand His house.
He gatheredthe priestsand Levitesand saidto them, "Goout to the citiesof Judahand collectmoneyfrom allIsraelto repairthe houseof your Godannually,and you shall dothe matterquickly."But the Levitesdid not actquickly.
For the LORDhumbledJudahbecauseof Ahazkingof Israel,for he had broughtabout a lackof restraintin Judahand was veryunfaithfulto the LORD.
For he sacrificedto the godsof Damascuswhich had defeatedhim, and said,"Becausethe godsof the kingsof Aramhelpedthem, I will sacrificeto them that they may helpme." But they becamethe downfallof him and allIsrael.
So Ahazsleptwith his fathers,and they buriedhim in the city,in Jerusalem,for they did not bringhim into the tombsof the kingsof Israel;and Hezekiahhis sonreignedin his place.
Now the restof the actsof Manasseheven his prayerto his God,and the wordsof the seerswho spoketo him in the nameof the LORDGodof Israel,behold,they are amongthe recordsof the kingsof Israel.
There had not been celebrateda Passoverlikeit in Israelsincethe daysof Samuelthe prophet;norhad anyof the kingsof Israelcelebratedsuch a Passoveras Josiahdidwith the priests,the Levites,allJudahand Israelwho were present,and the inhabitantsof Jerusalem.
