Now a daybeforeSaul'scoming,the LORDhad revealed[this] to Samuelsaying,
"Thenthey askedfor a king,and Godgavethem Saulthe sonof Kish,a manof the tribeof Benjamin,for fortyyears.
Then Samuelsaidto Saul,"The LORDsentme to anointyou as kingoverHis people,overIsrael;nowtherefore, listento the wordsof the LORD.
Surelythe LordGODdoesnothingUnlessHe revealsHis secretcounselTo His servantsthe prophets.
The secretof the LORDis for those who fearHim, And He will make them knowHis covenant.
ThenHe opensthe earsof men,And sealstheir instruction,
"For You, O LORDof hosts,the Godof Israel,have madea revelationto Your servant,saying,I will buildyou a house;thereforeYour servanthas foundcourageto praythisprayerto You.
He saidto him, "Farfrom it, you shall not die.Behold,my fatherdoesnothingeither greatorsmallwithoutdisclosingit to me. So whyshould my fatherhidethisthingfrom me? It is not so!"
"For thisvery nightan angelof the Godto whomI belongand whomI servestood beforeme,
When SamuelsawSaul,the LORDsaidto him, "Behold,the manof whomI spoketo you! Thisoneshall ruleover My people."
So they wentup to the city.As they cameinto the city,behold,Samuelwas comingout towardthem to goup to the highplace.
And the LORDappearedagainat Shiloh,becausethe LORDrevealedHimself to Samuelat Shilohby the wordof the LORD.
