"I have foundDavidMy servant;With My holyoilI have anointedhim,
"But nowyour kingdomshall not endure.The LORDhas soughtout for Himself a manafter His own heart,and the LORDhas appointedhim as ruleroverHis people,becauseyou have not keptwhatthe LORDcommandedyou."
So Samuelsaidto him, "The LORDhas tornthe kingdomof Israelfrom you todayand has givenit to your neighbor,who is betterthanyou.
Thus he saidto him, "Do not be afraid,becausethe handof Saulmy fatherwill not findyou, and you will be kingoverIsraeland I will be nextto you; and Saulmy fatherknowsthat also."
"So nowswearto me by the LORDthat you will not cutoffmy descendantsafterme and that you will not destroymy namefrom my father'shousehold."
thiswill not causegriefor a troubledheartto my lord,both by having shedbloodwithoutcauseand by my lordhaving avengedhimself. When the LORDdealswellwith my lord,then rememberyour maidservant."
