So Davidand his menwentto Keilahand foughtwith the Philistines;and he ledawaytheir livestockand struckthem with a greatslaughter.Thus Daviddeliveredthe inhabitantsof Keilah.
"For You have girdedme with strengthfor battle;You have subduedunderme those who roseup against me.
I shatteredthem, so that they were not ableto rise;They fellundermy feet.
And those who repayevilfor good,They opposeme, becauseI followwhatis good.
When there was waragain,Davidwentout and foughtwith the Philistinesand defeatedthem with greatslaughter,so that they fledbeforehim.
Then Davidinquiredof the LORDoncemore.And the LORDansweredhim and said,"Arise,godownto Keilah,for I will givethe Philistinesinto your hand."
Now it cameabout, when Abiatharthe sonof Ahimelechfledto Davidat Keilah,[that] he camedown[with] an ephodin his hand.
