The priestshall offerthem up in smokeon the altar[as] food,an offeringby firefor a soothingaroma;allfatis the LORD'S.
Thussaysthe LORDconcerningthe prophetswho leadmy peopleastray;When they have [something] to bitewith their teeth,They cry,"Peace,"But againsthim whoputsnothingin their mouthsThey declareholywar.
The sonsof Dansaidto him, "Do not let your voicebe heardamongus, orelsefiercemenwill fallupon you and you will loseyour life,with the livesof your household."
Also,beforethey burnedthe fat,the priest'sservantwould comeand sayto the manwho was sacrificing,"Givethe priestmeatfor roasting,as he will not takeboiledmeatfrom you, onlyraw."
Thus the sinof the youngmenwas verygreatbeforethe LORD,for the mendespisedthe offeringof the LORD.
