Now when SaulsawDavidgoingout againstthe Philistine,he saidto Abnerthe commanderof the army,"Abner,whosesonis thisyoungman?"And Abnersaid,"By your life,O king,I do not know."
So when Davidreturnedfrom killingthe Philistine,Abnertookhim and broughthim beforeSaulwith the Philistine'sheadin his hand.
Then the priestsaid,"The swordof Goliaththe Philistine,whomyou killedin the valleyof Elah,behold,it is wrappedin a clothbehindthe ephod;ifyou would takeit for yourself, take[it]. For thereis nootherexceptit here."And Davidsaid,"Thereis nonelikeit; giveit to me."
