When Ahabheardthat Nabothwas dead,Ahabaroseto godownto the vineyardof Naboththe Jezreelite,to takepossessionof it.
Now it cameabout afterthesethingsthat Naboththe Jezreelitehada vineyardwhich[was] in Jezreelbesidethe palaceof Ahabkingof Samaria.
When Jezebelheardthat Nabothhad been stonedand was dead,Jezebelsaidto Ahab,"Arise,takepossessionof the vineyardof Naboth,the Jezreelite,whichhe refusedto giveyou for money;for Nabothis not alive,but dead."
Then the wordof the LORDcameto Elijahthe Tishbite,saying,
When he cameto the hill,he tookthem from their handand depositedthem in the house,and he sentthe menaway,and they departed.
Then Joramsaid,"Getready."And they madehis chariotready.Joramkingof Israeland Ahaziahkingof Judahwentout, eachin his chariot,and they wentout to meetJehuand foundhim in the propertyof Naboththe Jezreelite.
"Whenyou seea thief,you are pleasedwith him, And you associatewith adulterers.
He who walksrighteouslyand speakswith sincerity,He who rejectsunjustgainAnd shakeshis handssothat they holdnobribe;He who stopshis earsfrom hearingabout bloodshedAnd shutshis eyesfrom lookingupon evil;
and although they knowthe ordinanceof God,that thosewho practicesuch thingsare worthyof death,they not onlydothe same,but alsogive hearty approvalto thosewho practicethem.
forsakingthe rightway,they have gone astray,having followedthe wayof Balaam,the [son] of Beor,wholovedthe wagesof unrighteousness;
