These thingsI have writtento you who believein the nameof the Sonof God,sothat you may knowthat you haveeternallife.
But as manyas receivedHim, to them He gavethe rightto becomechildrenof God,[even] to thosewho believein His name,
NowwhenHe was in Jerusalemat the Passover,duringthe feast,manybelievedin His name,observingHis signswhichHe was doing.
but thesehave been writtensothat you may believethat Jesusis the Christ,the Sonof God;and that believingyou may havelifein His name.
Thisis the disciplewho is testifyingto these thingsand wrotethese things,and we knowthat his testimonyis true.
"He who believesin Him is not judged;he who does not believehas been judgedalready,becausehe has not believedin the nameof the only begottenSonof God.
"Truly,truly,I sayto you, he who hearsMy word,and believesHim who sentMe, haseternallife,and does not comeinto judgment,but has passedout of deathinto life.
"And on the basisof faithin His name,[it is] the nameof Jesus which has strengthenedthisman whomyou seeand know;and the faithwhich [comes] throughHim has givenhim thisperfect healthin the presenceof you all.
"And there is salvationin nooneelse;for there is noothernameunderheaventhat has been givenamongmenby whichwe mustbe saved."
For we knowthat ifthe earthlytentwhich is our houseis torn down,we havea buildingfrom God,a housenot made with hands,eternalin the heavens.
Becauseyou are sons,Godhas sent forththe Spiritof His Soninto our hearts,crying,"Abba!Father!"
ThroughSilvanus,our faithfulbrother(for soI regard[him]), I have writtento you briefly,exhortingand testifyingthat thisis the true graceof God.Stand firmin it!
These thingswe write,sothat our joymay be made complete.
My little children,I am writingthese thingsto you sothat you may not sin.And ifanyonesins,we havean Advocatewith the Father,JesusChristthe righteous;
I have not writtento you becauseyou do not knowthe truth,but becauseyou do knowit, and becausenolieis of the truth.
Thisis the promisewhichHe Himselfmadeto us: eternallife.
These thingsI have writtento you concerningthosewho are trying to deceiveyou.
Thisis His commandment,that we believein the nameof His SonJesusChrist,and loveone another,justas He commandedus.
By thisthe loveof Godwas manifestedin us, that Godhas sentHis only begottenSoninto the worldsothat we might livethroughHim.
The one who believesin the Sonof Godhasthe testimonyin himself;the one who does not believeGodhas madeHim a liar,becausehe has not believedin the testimonythat Godhas givenconcerningHis Son.
And the testimonyis this,that Godhas givenus eternallife,and thislifeis in His Son.
And we knowthat the Sonof Godhas come,and has givenus understandingsothat we may knowHim whois true;and we are in Him who is true,in His SonJesusChrist.Thisis the true Godand eternallife.
