But oneand the sameSpiritworksallthese things,distributingto each oneindividuallyjustas He wills.
"Allthe inhabitantsof the earthare accountedas nothing,But He doesaccordingto His willin the hostof heavenAnd [among] the inhabitantsof earth;And noone can wardoffHis handOr sayto Him, 'Whathave You done?'
"Yes,Father,for this waywas well-pleasingin Your sight.
Is it not lawfulfor me to dowhatI wishwith whatis my own?Oris your eyeenviousbecauseI amgenerous?'
Johnansweredand said,"A mancanreceivenothingunlessit has beengivenhim from heaven.
"The windblowswhereit wishesand you hearthe soundof it, but do not knowwhereit comesfrom and whereit is going;sois everyonewho is bornof the Spirit."
"For justas the Fatherraisesthe deadand givesthem life,evensothe Sonalsogives lifeto whomHe wishes.
Since we havegiftsthat differaccordingto the gracegivento us, [each of us is to exercise them accordingly]: ifprophecy,accordingto the proportionof his faith;
So thenHe has mercyon whomHe desires,and He hardenswhomHe desires.
But nowGodhas placedthe members,eachoneof them, in the body,justas He desired.
Nowthere are varietiesof gifts,but the sameSpirit.
There are varietiesof effects,but the sameGodwho worksallthings in all[persons].
Only,as the Lordhas assignedto eachone,as Godhas calledeach,in thismannerlet him walk.And soI directin allthe churches.
YetI wishthat allmenwere evenas I myselfam. However,each manhashis owngiftfrom God,onein thismanner,and anotherin that.
But we will not boastbeyond[our] measure,but withinthe measureof the spherewhichGodapportionedto us as a measure,to reachevenas faras you.
alsowe have obtained an inheritance,having been predestinedaccordingto His purposewho worksall thingsafterthe counselof His will,
But to eachoneof us gracewas givenaccordingto the measureof Christ'sgift.
Godalso testifyingwith them, bothby signsand wondersand by variousmiraclesand by giftsof the HolySpiritaccordingto His own will.
In the exercise of His willHe brought us forthby the wordof truth,sothat we would be a kindof first fruitsamong His creatures.
