As for the Izharites,Chenaniahand his sonswere [assigned] to outsidedutiesfor Israel,as officersand judges.
The sonsof Kohathwere four:Amram,Izhar,Hebronand Uzziel.
Of these,24000were to overseethe workof the houseof the LORD;and 6,000[were] officersand judges,
As for the Amramites,the Izharites,the Hebronitesand the Uzzielites,
And allthat Samuelthe seerhad dedicatedand Saulthe sonof Kish,Abnerthe sonof Nerand Joabthe sonof Zeruiah,everyonewho had dedicated[anything, all of this] was in the careof Shelomothand his relatives.
The fifthfor the fifthmonth[was] the commanderShamhuththe Izrahite;and in his division[were] 24,000
[They were] also overthe burdenbearers,and supervisedallthe workmenfrom jobto job;and [some] of the Levites[were] scribesand officialsand gatekeepers.
and Shabbethaiand Jozabad,from the leadersof the Levites,who were in chargeof the outsideworkof the houseof God;
Of Kohath[was] the familyof the Amramitesand the familyof the Izharitesand the familyof the Hebronitesand the familyof the Uzzielites;thesewere the familiesof the Kohathites.
"Ifany caseis toodifficultfor you to decide,betweenone kind of homicideor another,betweenone kind of lawsuitor another,and betweenone kind of assaultor another,being casesof disputein your courts,then you shall ariseand goup to the placewhichthe LORDyour Godchooses.
"So you shall cometo the Leviticalpriestor the judgewhois [in office] in thosedays,and you shall inquire[of them] and they will declareto you the verdictin the case.
