Now when Davidreachedoldage,he madehis sonSolomonkingoverIsrael.
Abrahambreathedhis lastand diedin a ripeoldage,an oldmanand satisfied[with life]; and he was gatheredto his people.
Isaacbreathedhis lastand diedand was gatheredto his people,an oldmanof ripeage;and his sonsEsauand Jacobburiedhim.
Now KingDavidwas old,advancedin age;and they coveredhim with clothes,but he could not keepwarm.
"Has thisthingbeendoneby my lordthe king,and you have not shownto your servantswhoshould siton the throneof my lordthe kingafterhim?"
surelyas I vowedto you by the LORDthe Godof Israel,saying,'Your sonSolomonshall be kingafterme, and he shall siton my thronein my place;I will indeeddosothisday."
And Solomonsaton the throneof Davidhis father,and his kingdomwas firmlyestablished.
And he gatheredtogether allthe leadersof Israelwith the priestsand the Levites.
"Of allmy sons(for the LORDhas givenme manysons),He has chosenmy sonSolomonto siton the throneof the kingdomof the LORDoverIsrael.
Then he diedin a ripeoldage,fullof days,richesand honor;and his sonSolomonreignedin his place.
"You will cometo the gravein fullvigor,Like the stackingof grainin its season.
