When Davidarosein the morning,the wordof the LORDcameto the prophetGad,David'sseer,saying,
"Goand speakto David,saying,'Thussaysthe LORD,"I offeryou threethings;choosefor yourself oneof them, which I will doto you."'"
Allthese[were] the sonsof Hemanthe king'sseerto exalthim according to the wordsof God,for Godgavefourteensonsand threedaughtersto Heman.
Now the actsof KingDavid,from firstto last,are writtenin the chroniclesof Samuelthe seer,in the chroniclesof Nathanthe prophetand in the chroniclesof Gadthe seer,
He then stationedthe Levitesin the houseof the LORDwith cymbals,with harpsand with lyres,according to the commandof Davidand of Gadthe king'sseer,and of Nathanthe prophet;for the commandwas from the LORDthroughHis prophets.
The prophetGadsaidto David,"Do not stayin the stronghold;depart,and gointo the landof Judah."So Daviddepartedand wentinto the forestof Hereth.
