So they cameup to Baal-perazim,and Daviddefeatedthem there;and Davidsaid,"Godhas brokenthroughmy enemiesby my hand,like the breakthroughof waters."Thereforethey namedthat placeBaal-perazim.

Davidinquiredof God,saying,"Shall I goup againstthe Philistines?And will You givethem into my hand?"Then the LORDsaidto him, "Goup, for I will givethem into your hand."
They abandonedtheir godsthere;so Davidgavethe orderand they were burnedwith fire.
"As [through] a widebreachthey come,Amidthe tempestthey rollon.
Blessedbe the LORD,my rock,Who trainsmy handsfor war,[And] my fingersfor battle;
Who givessalvationto kings,Who rescuesDavidHis servantfrom the evilsword.
For by their own swordthey did not possessthe land,And their own armdid not savethem, But Your righthandand Your armand the lightof Your presence,For You favoredthem.
The watersreturnedand coveredthe chariotsand the horsemen,even Pharaoh'sentirearmythat had goneinto the seaafterthem; not evenoneof them remained.
For the LORDwill riseup as [at] MountPerazim,He will be stirredup as in the valleyof Gibeon,To doHis task,His unusualtask,And to workHis work,His extraordinarywork.
"The rainfell,and the floodscame,and the windsblewand slammed againstthat house;and it fell--and greatwas its fall."
